On the 12th of November 2021, Hawthorn Estates was happy to invite their guest to attend the CIOB Northwest Annual Black-Tie Dinner. For this year’s event, the CIOB chose to hold the dinner at the Haydock Racecourse Park.

Starting at 7 pm with a Sparkling wine drinks reception, the CIOB Members and their guests mingled, networking with others in attendance.

The event progressed on schedule, opening with a brief welcome from the Master of Ceremonies – Barbara Entwistle FCIOB (Fellow of the CIOB)

After the dinner finished, it was time for the Chief Executive to talk to the audience.

Caroline Gumble (C.E) took to the stage and thanked all those in attendance. She also thanked those who assisted in organising the event, including thanking the event sponsors – Housing LMS (please see below for more information).

Once Caroline was finished offering thanks. Then, Mike Foy OBE, the President of the CIOB, addressed the room.

After Dessert and Coffee, it was time for the chosen charity to address the audience. The CIOB chosen charity for the 2021 annual black-tie Dinner was: Claire House.

Clinical Director Jan Sutherland Oakes came to the stage to explain the charity and their aim to do with support from the event.

Claire House Children’s Hospice

A Children’s hospice charity set up to help seriously and terminally ill children to live their life to the full. Allowing the children to create beautiful experiences, ensuring the sense of normality and family are still available. But, at the same time, they have the treatments they require.

Claire House provides emotional support to families and specialised nursing care. These trained experts have a passion for their profession.

The care provided by Claire house is not just about the treatment of the ill child. The hospice’s atmosphere is a place all the children in the family can relax and enjoy themselves (no matter the age). Provisions are in place for parents to engage in family time as well as rest bite.

Claire house does not limit the care and support to the residents of the house, but they give at-home support to those who wish to remain in their family home.

If you wish to donate to Claire house, please see the donation page.
