Project Description

Introduction

Late July and early August 2020 Hawthorn Estates was asked to complete health and safety Canopy Cladding in Buckley, Middlesbrough.

Customer

The existing canopy was also a fire point, Hawthorn was required to replace the fire retardent material to bring it up to the relevant fire codes.

For health, safety and fire requirements a canopy in Buckley needed stripping and replacing with fire retardent cladding on a public walkway, located in a high pedestrian area.

LED lighting was installed on consecutive wooden slats for illuminance purposes to aid the general public during the darker hours. The lights were installed on timers, limiting the risk and upgrading the sustainability by reducing the power requirements.

Hawthorn Estates were able to use the open area to secure the safety of employees and the public while works were underway. Scaffolds were installed for the use of high-level work.

High-quality water retardant white paint was used to protect the installation and fire-resistant boards.

The client was happy with the finished product.
