Hawthorn Estates proudly supports all our employees in building their skills in their chosen profession; this includes the students who hold their work experience with us.

With this in mind, we support our apprentices and work experience students who are happy to challenge themselves by means of competitions.

We are proud to support our Plumbing apprentice, who has been confirmed as a competitor for the HIP Female Skills Competition in March 2024. Congratulations on getting this chance; we look forward to supporting you and Burnley College during your competition.

What is the HIP Female Skills Competition?

HIP, renowned for its ‘Learner of the Year’ competition, is committed to providing competitions to build confidence, advocate skills development, and get the very best people into the industry, regardless of gender. With the growing number of women who are joining the Plumbing industry every year, HIP decided in 2023 to launch its first Female Skills Competition.

The 2023 competition had done extremely well, and having a lot of interest shown by competitors and supporters, HIP has decided to continue the competition for consecutive years alongside its Learner of the Year competition.

For 2024’s competition, HIP will travel across three regions of the country (South, Midlands and North) for the best up-and-coming industry talent. Level 2 and 3 plumbing & heating learners from colleges nationwide will compete in a live practical installation for the chance to win this prestigious award.
