Project Description

This modest dwelling refurbishment and extension have been approved at planning appeal this week as being an appropriate scale for development in the Green Belt. The existing bungalow, to be reconfigured, sits within the West Lancs. The Green Belt, between other dwellings, is closely grouped along Butchers Lane in Aughton.

West Lancs. BC planning officers refused the application as they determined the impact on the openness was too great, despite its meeting their policy targets for appropriate development. Luckily, the Appeal Inspector disagreed, applied some common sense, and approved the application. Both the planning application and appeal were handled by our friend Richard Gee of Roman Summer Assoc and designed by HDP, working closely with the clients to achieve their goals.
